Anotace - angličtina
Course Description:
Sustainable Development Goal 12 aims at responsible consumption and production. In this regard, sustainable consumption is pivotal as part of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, many antecedent variables can affect sustainable consumption, such as information, values, norms, media, etc. Effective communication plays a crucial role in shaping sustainable consumption. Nevertheless, there is still a lack of understanding regarding how the academic literature scrutinize sustainable consumption from the perspective of communication study, even if there is an increasing amount of research on communication in relation to consumption behaviour.
This course provides students an interdisciplinary discipline perspective on how communication and sustainable consumption are intertwined. The course covers current discourses and material practices around sustainable consumption, emphasizing on how social practices and interaction can shape sustainable consumption in community or even society. To elaborate, the course topics will encompass slow fashion, slow food, minimalism, or other everyday politics in relation to social movements and campaigns.

Use of Generative AI Tools in This Course

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the development of knowledge and learning is encouraged at many stages of the learning process. While we value technology for educational purposes, we also value originality and the retainment of knowledge, and thus using AI for assignments and examinations is strictly regulated based on level of usage. Violence of the rules will be considered an academic integrity violation. The level of AI usage is divided into two levels, as follows:

  • Level 1 - No AI content is allowed in the final submission. AI may be used for brainstorming and generating ideas, and for structuring the assignment.
  • Level 2 – This level covers level 1 but with more lenient rules. Content may be created using AI in a way to make improvements to the clarity or quality of the assignment, to proofread and to improve the final outcome. AI generated content is still forbidden.
  • Level 3 – AI generated content is allowed.

Students will be instructed by the teacher which AI level policy applied in each case of assignment or examination.
