Students are required to attend all classes and asked to sign in each time they come to class. The grade for attendance and performance will be based on preparation, attendance, participation, and effort. Students will lose their points for unexcused absences, lateness, and poor classroom performance. Some important reminders are given below for your information.
The points won’t be deducted by the unexcused absence for two times.
However, after that, one point will be deducted by each absence. Also, the absence will affect your performance.
It will be considered one unexcused absence if you arrive late or leave early for three times (15 minutes each).
Late homework will be corrected with no credits, unless it is an excused absence.
Class preparation and participation: All students are expected to prepare for class and participate actively in the day’s language practice. Students’ class participation and performance will be evaluated daily and a final score will be given at the end of each class using the following scale:
4 = Well prepared with excellent performance
3 = Gave some indication of good preparation
2= Participated, but displayed inadequate preparation
1 = Present with almost no participation
0 = Absent
