Anotace

The course is aimed at expanding students' reading competences by engaging contemporary news media. The classes will centre on close readings of individual articles, exploring the contexts of their publication and the nature of media in which they appear. It thus strengthens not just language skills but also the familiarity with mass media environment in contemporary China.

Podmínky zakončení předmětu

Class attendance and participation in class work are necessary for passing the course (min. 70%). The final session will be devoted to students' summaries of the semester's readings and the self-evaluation of the knowledge they obtained in the course.
