1.Homework 10% (Homework is assigned at every class session and must be submitted by the next class. No make-up opportunities are available for missed assignments. If you forget to bring the homework, you may take a photo as proof and submit it in the next class; however, a 10-point deduction will be applied. Exceptions can be made if you provide a valid medical record.)
2.Quiz 20% (A dictation quiz will be conducted at every class, comprising 10 vocabulary. Each incorrect word will result in a 5-point deduction. If your total score is below 60, you will have one opportunity for a retake in the next class. Absences and those arriving more than half an hour late do not qualify for the retake, except in cases where you provide a valid medical record.)
3.Class performance 30% (This is the most important! It includes your attendance record, class participation, learning attitude, and preparation for lessons. For example, if you frequently answer "I don't know" when the teacher asks questions or do not prepare the pre-class materials assigned in the previous session, your grades will likely be lower. Additionally, please strictly follow these rules:
a. Do not use artificial intelligence, Google Translate, or Pleco as translation tools during class (unless permitted by the teacher).
b. Do not use computers for taking notes during class.
c. Eating food during class is not allowed, but drinking liquids is permitted.
d. After completing the first textbook and the second lesson, English and Czech cannot be used in class.
e. Homework must be handwritten; if typed on a computer or if the handwriting is too messy, it will not be graded.
f. For formal matters such as course or exam arrangements, scheduling office hours, or inquiries about learning content, please contact the teacher via email. Social media platforms like Messenger or WhatsApp should only be used for urgent communication (e.g., notifying about lateness) or for sharing daily life in Mandarin.)
4.Final exam 40% (Including written and oral exams, with the written exam covering listening, reading, and writing. The written exam accounts for 60% of the total grade, while the oral exam makes up the remaining 40%.
For example, if the written exam score is 80 and the oral exam score is 36, the total score is calculated as (80 × 0.6) + 36 = 84.
Additionally, if you are unable to attend the exam on the scheduled day, please coordinate with the teacher as early as possible to arrange an alternative examination time.
For first-time exam (non-make-up) absences, there is one opportunity to reschedule the exam; exceeding this will be considered as not passing and the student will move into the retake phase.)
