Pro koho je litární seminář určen: předpokládané prohloubení učiva z úrovně B2 na B2+
Kurz umožní studentům lepší orientaci v beletristické angličtině při práci s anglicky psaným literárním textem (ukázky zasílané předem studentům) a jeho interpretaci, tzv. "close reading".
Tento kurz bude během celého semestru vyučován prezečně.
Požadavky na kurz: samostudium (čtení povídek, které budou zasílány e-maily v SISu, splnění jednotlivých úkolů - speficifkých otázek k textům zasílaných mailem - a závěrečná (srovnávací) esej.

This is a one-semester course, 1 x 2 lessons per week.
Aim:
This course will cover a range of short stories - all published in the last decade in The New Yorker and written by women, so the "female" aspect will be important in the future literary analysis. Each 2 weeks we will look at two stories and compare them while paying attention to style, theme and form. The aim is to deepen the linguistic knowledge of students, allowing them also to orient themselves in literary analysis.
Materials will be distributed at the beginning of the seminar (no textbook needed)
From the beginning of the semester, the course will be taught in person.
Requirements for the course: self-study (reading of the short-stories that will be sent via SIS emails), plus specific questions about the stories will be sent via email during the course, together with final (comparative) essay.
