Anotace
Adjectives

the course is accessible and useful for students with any language background. This course aims to delve into the morphological, inflectional, and morphosyntactic properties that define adjectives within the Indo-European language family. We will explore the mechanisms through which adjectives are formed, inflected, and integrated into the syntax of various Indo-European languages. A thorough understanding of these processes is essential for comprehending the intricacies of Proto-Indo-European reconstruction and the grammatical evolution of its descendant languages. The course will cover key topics including the basics of adjectival morphology, the distinction between inflection and word formation, the formation and use of comparative and superlative forms, and the syntactic behavior of adjectives. Additionally, we will draw comparisons with adjectival structures in non-Indo-European languages to highlight unique and shared features. Each session will comprise a combination of lectures, discussions, interactive exercises, and collaborative group work to foster a comprehensive and engaging learning environment.

We are happy to invite online students of every level and make the course for them as creative as possible.

Požadavky ke zkoušce - angličtina

It is quite important to attend the classes because every lecture is unique and very difficult for home-study. However, our aim is to teach the students, and testing is only a way of encouraging more learning. You will get opportunity to be tested either in a written form or in an interesting discussion over adjetcives as you know them.
