Seminář se zaměřuje na středověké pojetí jiných světů v textech i v obrazovém materiálu. Zvláštní pozornost bude věnována záhrobí. Zároveň seminář představí samotný středověk jako "jiný svět," způsoby, jakými lze do tohoto světa pronikat, a jejich důsledky. Seminář je určen pro doktorandy a pokročilé studenty magisterského studia se zájmem o medievistiku.

The seminar is the first in the series of seminars in medieval studies Medieval Conceptual Conflicts and Contrast. This semester is focused on This World and the Other Worlds in the Middle Ages. We shall analyze both texts and images with a special emphasis on the afterlife and apocalypsis. In addition, the Middle Ages itself shall be discussed as "another world". The course is aimed at PhD students and advanced MA students dealing with any aspect of medieval studies.
