Předmět „Praktická filosofie B“ je doplňujícím kurzem k předmětu „Praktická filosofie A“, je s ním obsahově těsně provázán a studenti jej plní současně s ním (ve stejném akademickém roce). V akademickém roce 2025-2026 je zaměřen na vybrané texty z dějin etiky (Platón, Aristotelés, epikurejci, Hobbes, Rousseau, Hume, Kant, Mill).

The course "Practical Philosophy B" is a supplementary course to "Practical Philosophy A." It is closely linked to it in terms of content, and students take it at the same time (in the same academic year). In the 2025-2026 academic year, it focuses on selected texts from the history of ethics (Plato, Aristotle, Epicureans, Hobbes, Rousseau, Hume, Kant, Mill).

Podmínky zakončení předmětu
In order to gain the credit for this course, students must pass the three following components:
Attendance. Not including the first week or the January exam, there are TEN weeks of seminars, and students must attend at least SEVEN of them.
An at-home essay of 1500 words, due on Monday 21 December at 11.59pm. This should be submitted to Moodle. (Not hard copy necessary.)
A 60-minute multiple-choice exam on the afternoon of Friday 8 January. Precise date and time to be confirmed.

The course is divided into two halves. The first half will follow a textbook by Adam Swift, and it is posted here on SIS, as well as on Moodle. The second half will comprise a number of themes, each with a separate article to read, and these will be on Moodle.
