Předmět se zabývá pragmatickými aspekty verbální komunikace člověka se zřetelem k bádání v oblasti diskurzní
a konverzační analýzy. Studenti jsou vedeni k pochopení, že komunikace jakožto sociální činnost se promítá do
volby použitých jazykových prostředků a že normy společenské a normy jazykové jsou velmi úzce propojeny.
Předmět je vyučován v angličtině. Je určen především pro studenty oboru fonetika - studentům jiných oborů bude
zápis umožněn dle kapacity kurzu.
Předmět je prioritně určen studentům, pro které je povinný nebo tvoří PVP nabídku jejich programu.

The course introduces pragmatic aspects of human speech behaviour with special regard to research in discourse and conversation analysis. Students are led to appreciation of communication as a social activity. Social norms and language norms are in a tight relationship, which helps to explain the choice of the linguistic means in various communicative situations. The course requires competences in English (as it is taught in English) and knowledge of phonetic fundamentals.
