Anotace
This course will cover a brief overview of applicable aspects of Linguistic theory in each lesson followed by
practical application with hands-on activities based on real-world experience in the theater and film industries.
Instructional Objectives:
Students will have a reinforced knowledge of the Linguistic theory offered in the course. We will read together
scientific articles from international journals and personal accounts from actors and directors. We will learn how
to work with actors on a range of practical dialogue skills. While there will be some lectures in the course, they
will be interactive and aimed at students developing their own concepts.
I should expect the students to possess a general knowledge in Theoretical Linguistics and Teaching
Methodologies. Students should also have a basic to developed concept of their bachelor theses. Students will
be expected to work outside of class at least one lesson with an actor on the L2 of their choice. Dialogue
Coaching activities and texts written by the instructor will be provided, as well as links to articles and
recommended literature.
This course will be applicable for students interested in:
● Teaching English as a Foreign Language
● Dialogue Coaching for Film and Theater
● Speech Therapy and Speech Pathology
● Improving their relationship with private subjects and students
● Applying their Linguistic studies to their future profession
