    Charge for the admission procedure

    Note: Each applicant who submits an online application must choose one of the following methods to pay the application fee: either by online payment using a credit or debit card, or by bank transfer. In the case of a bank transfer, the payment must include a unique variable symbol generated by the university’s information system.

    The application fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

    Information on the admission procedure: The admission procedure is initiated by the receipt of the application form.

    Conditions for admission are as follows:
    1. Demonstration of the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for study, as specified by the admission requirements of the respective programme
    2. Submission of a certified copy of the secondary school leaving certificate

    The deadline for submitting proof of secondary education is September 30th, 2026. The verification period for fulfilling graduation requirements is set for October 22nd, 2026; this date applies to applicants who passed their final examinations during the autumn term, or to applicants who fulfilled the secondary education requirement with the final examinations according to Section 48(4) of the Higher Education Act.

    Applicants who have completed their previous education at a foreign secondary school shall submit one of the following documents to substantiate their previous education: proof of general recognition of the equivalence or validity of a foreign document of secondary education in the Czech Republic ("a nostrification certificate"); or a foreign document of foreign secondary education with a matriculation examination ("maturita") which is automatically equivalent in the Czech Republic according to its international agreements without further official procedure (this includes: “maturita” certificates from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia; or International Baccalaureate; or European Baccalaureate); or a foreign document of foreign secondary education to be assessed by the Faculty of Humanities (fee of CZK 990). Detailed information on how to prove that the condition of secondary education with a matriculation examination has been met for graduates of foreign secondary schools can be found on the faculty's website: https://fhs.cuni.cz/FHSENG-912.html.

    In accordance with Article 4(5) of the Code of Admissions Procedure, the invitation to the entrance examination is sent no later than 30 days before the date of the examination. If the faculty sends an invitation for an alternative date of the entrance examination, this time period may be shortened accordingly. The invitation shall be sent only in electronic form via the Student Information System.

    Applicants will be granted an alternative date for the entrance examination only in justified cases (in particular for health reasons). Applicants must send their request for an alternative date for the entrance examination within three days of the date of the regular examination date. The application must be submitted and processed via the Student Information System. No further alternative dates shall be permitted.

    Applicants with special needs may request a modification of the entrance examination. In this case, a substantiated request supported by a medical certificate must be included in the application form. The application for a modification of the entrance examination shall be submitted and processed via the Student Information System.
    The application for a modification of the entrance examination for the Liberal Arts and Humanities programme must be submitted to Scio and must comply with its terms and conditions.

    All applicants must present a valid identity document at the entrance examination.

The verification period for fulfilling graduation requirements is set for October 22nd, 2026; this date applies to applicants who completed their studies in a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme during the autumn term, in accordance of Section 48(1), third sentence, of the Higher Education Act; or the applicants proves the condition of completion of any study programme pursuant to Section 48(5) of the Higher Education Act.

    Applicants who have completed their previous higher education at a foreign university must submit one of the following documents to substantiate their previous education: a document of general recognition of foreign higher education in the Czech Republic, obtained pursuant to Sections 89 and 90 of the Higher Education Act (the "general nostrification"); or a foreign document concerning foreign higher education if it is deemed automatically equivalent in the Czech Republic by its international agreements without any further administrative procedures (university diploma and supplement from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, and Slovenia); or a proof of foreign higher education to be assessed by the Faculty of Humanities (fee of CZK 990).     Charge for the admission procedure

    Note: After submitting the application, a fee of CZK 840 must be paid for the admission procedure for electronic applications. The fee is payable on the third day after the deadline for submitting the application. The application fee is non-refundable. If the applicant does not pay the fee within this period, it is assumed that they have withdrawn their application. In such a case, the faculty will terminate the procedure by resolution.

    Information on the admission procedure: AThe admission procedure specifications are listed for each program. All study programs are offered without specializations.

    Admission requirements:
    1) submission of a duly completed application form by the specified deadline, including the required components and attachments;
    2) achievement of the minimum score for admission set by the dean, which is determined by the dean taking into account the number of applicants taking the entrance examination and the capacity and economic possibilities of the faculty;
    3) submission of a certified copy of proof of completion of master's studies – applicants who have completed their studies abroad shall submit proof of equivalence of education in cases where required by law.

    Applicants who have completed their previous higher education at a foreign university must submit one of the following documents to prove their previous education: a document certifying the general recognition of foreign higher education in the Czech Republic, obtained in accordance with Sections 89 and 90 of the Higher Education Act (known as "nostrification"); a foreign document certifying foreign higher education, which is equivalent in the Czech Republic according to its international obligations without further official procedure (university diploma and supplement from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia); or a foreign document certifying foreign higher education, which the faculty will assess itself (fee of CZK 990). Detailed information on how to prove successful completion of a master's degree program for graduates of foreign universities can be found on the faculty's website at https://fhs.cuni.cz/FHS-1027.html. Documents must be sent by post to the faculty's address by August 31, 2026, at the latest. The fee shall be paid by the applicant together with the application fee or at the time of requesting the assessment of their foreign education as part of the admission procedure.

    Applicants may request modifications to the entrance examination due to health disabilities, including specific learning disabilities. In such cases, a written request supported by medical documentation must be included with the application for study. Requests for modifications to the entrance examination are submitted and processed via the electronic information system. The original medical certificate may also be sent by post.

    Each applicant must present proof of identity at the entrance examination.

    An alternative date for the entrance examination will be provided to applicants only in justified cases (especially for health reasons). Applicants are required to send a justified request for an alternative date for the entrance examination (supported by, for example, a medical report) to the Doctoral Studies Department no later than three days after the date of the examination on the regular date. Requests are submitted and processed via the electronic information system.

    In accordance with Article 4(5) of the Admission Procedure Rules for Applicants to Charles University, the faculty shall send the applicant an invitation to the entrance examination no later than 30 days before the date of the examination. If the faculty sends an invitation to an alternative date for the entrance examination, this period may be shortened appropriately. Applicants will receive a password for accessing the electronic system after submitting their application for study.

    The application is submitted in electronic form, including the required attachments.
    Medical certificates are not required.
