| Information on the admission procedure: | How to start your studies at First Faculty of Medicine • Fill in electronic application form (or send hard copy of the application form) or contact one of our representatives to help you with electronic application form on time and send PDF of electronic application form by e-mail to Faculty e-mail address. Fill up and pay for the application form till 30.4.2022. • Successfully pass the entrance exam. • Provide evidence of completed secondary education, pay your tuition fee, confirm your attendance on enrolment in Faculty database • Come to the 1st year enrollment How and When to Apply Each student can file one application for one study program (it is possible to apply both for General Medicine and Dentistry program at the same time). Application can be done directly to First Faculty of Medicine by filling in the online application form or by contacting one of our representatives, who will help with filling of electronic application. Students may start their application process prior to completing their secondary education. For the direct application go to https://is.cuni.cz/studium/eng/login.php?do=prihlaska and make sure to fill it in latest by 30th of April 2022. Should you wish to apply through one of the official representative please contact them for details. There is a total number of 150 places for General Medicine and 30 places for Dentistry course available to applicants for academic year 2022/2023. Once your application is received and processed an invitation letter for the entrance exam will be sent to you electronically. If you need any special arrangements in order to organize your travels to entrance examination please contact us individually. Under Art. 4 (5) of the Admissions Procedure Code of Charles University, the faculty is to send to an applicant the invitation to an entrance examination through the University Electronic Information System not later than 30 days before the date of the examination. Should the faculty send an invitation for an alternative date of the entrance examination this period may be shortened accordingly. A password to log into the electronic information system is obtained by an applicant after the applicant has submitted the application to study. What should you know about Entrance Examination Students are offered a place at the Faculty based on their result in our entrance examination. It consists of written multiple-choice test from Biology, Chemistry and Physics, an interview & personal statement. Calculators are not allowed. The examination dates: • Overseas – details to be specified by your chosen representative. • In Prague – 3rd of June 2022 You have to bring for registration invitation letter from our faculty (you should receive it beforehand by e-mail). There is also additional date for Prague’s examination on 17th of June 2022 which is designated for those who can not attend the regular date. Though please note that there will be only limited time for you to make all the necessary arrangements (visa and accommodation application, etc) should you attend this additional term, mainly due to short period of time between the examination and enrollment. Those mentioned reasons wouldn’t be accepted as legitimate reasons for postponing your enrollment or any of the study obligations. Therefore it is highly recommended to make it to the regular term, unless you have some serious reason not to. Tuition and Costs Annual net tuition fee is 450.000 CZK for General Medicine course 450.000 CZK for Dentistry course Enrolment Confirm your attendance on enrolment in Faculty database first. Enrolment takes place in Prague for all admitted applicants usually few days prior to the start of the academic year (exact dates to be confirmed). Following will be required on your enrollment day: • Admission valid for the respective academic year • Valid long-term Visa, if applicable • Provide an evidence of completed secondary education • Signed Study Contract The applicant who completed the previous level of education at a foreign secondary school, must submit one of the following documents: a document proving that a foreign document concerning the obtainment of secondary education is generally recognised as equivalent or valid in the Czech Republic (so-called “nostrification”), or a document proving the granting of the European Baccalaureate, or a foreign document concerning a foreign secondary education completed with a “maturita” examination, if it is deemed automatically equivalent in the Czech Republic in accordance with its international agreements without any further administrative procedures (a “maturita school leaving certificate” from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, or Slovenia), or a foreign document concerning a foreign secondary education to be assessed by the faculty (for a fee of CZK 870). Fill your personal e-mail - email must be unique for each student . Go to your e-mail, and put data from here to the system . You will see the tab "For foreigners without PID number" and you will fill your personal data . After you will fill the date of birth, sex and nationality, you will choose as faculty First faculty of medicine . Then you fill the Type and form of study as full-time Master's . After that you will fill Study Field: you will choose General Medicine or Dentistry . Then create application form, you will have to fill all compulsory fields . You will save application and get the PDF, which you will send to e-mail fsad@lf1.cuni.cz to our Faculty. You have to pay 820 CZK for application form (as administration fee). If we don't receive the payment before the deadline 30.4.2022, the Faculty will inform the applicant. Without payment the applicant won't be allowed to attend the entrance exam. |

| Information on the admission procedure: | At the entrance interview, the candidate is supposed to prove professional capacity and language command needed to study the respective field, as well as the qualities required for independent scientific work. A part of the entrance procedure is also investigation of the candidate’s interest in research into a particular topic with a particular Supervising Tutor. For the academic year 2022-2023, the Dean of the First Faculty of Medicine of Charles University announces the entrance procedures to enrol for full-time and/or combined form of studies in Doctoral (PhD) study programmes. Alternative terms of entrance interviews are going to take place at least 5 days and latest 40 days after the regular term. The candidate can apply for the alternative term only for serious reasons. The exact dates of entrance interviews will be announced when fixed by the relevant Field Boards in April 2022. | Application form requisites: | You can apply for study before 30th of April 2022 by filling in and submitting an electronic application form accessible via Student information system (SIS): https://is.cuni.cz/studium/eng/, Admission icon. The electronic form of application is preferable. After submitting the application form, a fee of CZK 720 (for an electronic application via SIS) or CZK 770 (for a paper application) for administrative operations connected with the admissions procedure is charged. If the Faculty fails to receive payment or a receipt of payment of the admission fee before 30th of April 2022, the applicant will be asked to pay the admission fee within a reasonably set time limit. If the applicant failes to pay the admission fee within the set time limit, admission process will be terminated. The invitation to the admission interview will be delivered to the applicants in electronic form through the Study Information System (SIS). A password to log into the electronic information system is obtained by an applicant after the applicant has submitted the application to study. Attachments and supplements to the application form: 1. Doctoral project – annotation of the applicant’s research project, that should be signed by the prospective Supervising Tutor. For the study programme Experimental Surgery only: a) Written consent of the head of the department (employer´s consent), that the applicant´s research project can be carried out at his/her department. b) At clinical units, the Applicant’s project must be approved by the ethics committee. Document certifying the award of the master's degree: a) The students currently studying in the master's degree programme: Certification of the current master's degree study programme issued by the Student Registry b) Master's degree graduates: graduates from the Charles University – copy of the diploma, graduates from other Czech universities – authenticated copy of the diploma. In case the graduate does not have his/her diploma yet, he/she needs the certification of completion of studies issued by the Student Registry c) Graduates from universities abroad (including Slovakia): one of the documents regarding the foreign education, see the website: https://en.lf1.cuni.cz/recognition-of-foreign-diplomas-and-degreess 5.
