The course content focuses on acquiring knowledge of the basic methods of communication with patients across different age groups, communication with patients and their care givers in a dental office, principles of communication with patients with special needs, and the issues of fear and pain in dentistry.

Aim of the course

The goal of the subject:

  1. To inform the students about the importance of communication skills in medicine and dentistry.
  2. To prepare them theoretically to the various situations in dental office.
  3. To present the main conflict situations in medicine and dentistry and their prevention.

Requirements to the exam

Credit

  1. Student must be present at all seminars (each absence must be fully compensated).
  2. The successful pass of the credit test (obtain at least 75 % of points).

In case of repeating the subject, the student is required to complete the study obligation in its entirety.
