This follow-up seminar to the course "Methodological approaches in Gender Studies" further develops its main
themes. The goal is to
offer students an overview of the main methodological approaches in social sciences using practical examples, to
introduce
them to their critical appropriation within feminist scholarship, including the discussion of implied
epistemological, ontological
and methodological assumptions. The emphasis is placed on critical thinking, reflexivity and one's own
intepretation of
relevant issues.

Seminář doplňuje kurz Metodologické přístupy v genderových studiích a dále rozvádí jeho základní teze. Cílem je představit studentkám a studentům metodologii a metody využívané v sociálněvědním výzkumu na konkrétních příkladech, seznámit je s feministickými přístupy k jejich využívání a nabídnout jim možnost kritického zamyšlení nad dialogem mezi mainstreamovou vědou a feministickými alternativami. Důraz je kladen na kritické myšlení, reflexi a vlastní interpretaci dané problematiky.
