Annotation -
Pharmacognosy studies active ingredients (medicinal substances) and excipients (auxiliary substances) of natural origin intended for human use. It deals with all aspects of natural drugs – origin, production, processing, constituents, standardization and quality control, biological activities and use in therapy, contraindications, adverse effects, and interactions with other drugs and substances.
