Cílem studia je získání znalostí a zkušeností z odborné a vědecké práce v širokém spektru diskrétní matematiky a teoretické informatiky: algebraických, geometrických, pravděpodobnostních a strukturálních metod v návaznosti na současné trendy jak teorie, tak i aplikací ve fyzice, biologii a dalších vědách. Absolvent oboru je schopen vědecké a odborné práce a řízení výzkumu v těchto oblastech.

The aim of study is to obtain knowledge and experience in scientific and reseach work in a wide range of topic in discrete mathematics and theoretical computer science: algebraic, geometric, probabilistic, and structural methods according to the current trends in both theory and applications in physics, biology, etc. The graduate of this program is able to perform research and other qualified tasks, and also to supervise research in these areas.
