SP characteristics

The Programme is based on a wide range of scientific branches focused not only on pedagogy-psychological, university and didactical bases in the area of teaching but also on other branches which are considered as subdisciplines of Kinanthropology.
These are branches of Humanities (philosophy, history of sport), Social Sciences (psychology, sociology, pedagogy and sport management), Biomedical areas (biomechanice, physiology in stress conditions), interdisciplinary (anthropomotorics, fitness and healthy lifestyle, nutrition). Apart from these branches there is a didactics of sport on the theoretical and practical bases and basic didactics of main sport activities. However, the subjects focused on the final thesis processing are the essencial part of the Study Programme. These are mainly subjects dealing with the basic solutions and methodology of scientific thesis. The professional skills are also developed through the different kinds of internship at schools.
Students take part in methodological, scientific and research activities which take place at the specialized workplaces as well as at the Sport, the Social Sciences and the Biomedical Sections of the Faculty.
Specializations which are a part of the Study Programme widen theoretical knowledge and skills of the graduates in the area of education.
The Specialization – Health Education based on the area of „the Man and Health“ which includes physical education and healthy lifestyle education. Students widen their knowledge in the area of healthcare in connection with fitness developing as a part of healthy lifestyle.
The Specialization – Education in Nature where students gain specific theoretical knowledge and professional skills connected with staying in the nature where the knowledge in the pedagogy of experience and the environmental education are the dominant aspects. Students can apply their specific knowledge and skills while preparing, planning, organizing and assessing physical activities within staying in the nature programmes.

Graduate profile for the public:
The graduate of the Study Programme Physical Education and Sport focused on education gains the qualifications which are essencial for the following Master Programme branch of Teacher Education of Physical Education for Upper Secondary Schools. The Study Programme includes two areas of education- Physical Education and Sport, Kinanthropology and Teachers Education. This fact brings the graduate the essencial qualifications in the area of physical education and sport, specifically the coaching, methodological, psychological, diagnostic, intervention and other knowledge and skills.
The graduate is able to create, assess, coordinate and manage physical activities of different age and social groups with the respect to their needs and local conditions.
The choice of elective subjects is based on the branch of study – Coaching (swimming sports, gymnastics, track and field, sport games and technical sports nad combat sports ) or Physical Education and Sport. These subjects bring the graduates a better possibilities in their employment. The graduate gains wider competences in planning, organizing and assessing of specific sport activities within the frame of their education based on the chosen Coaching programme.
The Specializations Health Education and Education in Nature provide specific knowledge and skills enableing the graduate to create, offer, perform, and coordinate physical activities in the nature or those dealing with a healthy lifestyle.
The graduate of the Study Programme in joint study programme – the Main Study Plan (Maior), which is performed with partner Faculties of Charles University, gains the essencial competences in the area of physical education and sport as well as in the other study subject they study such as Czech language, mathematics, geography, geology for the following Master Study Programme which prepares the future teachers of physical education and the other study subject.
The Study Plan Minor focused on learning basic knowledge and skills in the area of physical education and sport which are essencial for the following studies in the Master Study Programme focused on preparing teachers whose second study subject is physical education.
