SP characteristics
The master’s programme is an open programme with a strong academic and scientific orientation and potential to attract students from all areas of logic, both mathematical and humanities-oriented logic. The fact that the programme is delivered in English further testifies to its scientific orientation. The curriculum will provide students with a grounding in advanced scientific topics, develop their scientific thinking and qualify them for employment and/or study in a doctoral programme. We will promote our master’s programme at national and international levels, appealing to students from other universities inside and outside the Czech Republic, which is made possible by English being the language of instruction. Offering a Czech university programme in English brings added value, allowing Czech students to integrate faster into the international student and scientific community. Additional tutoring in Czech will be offered where appropriate.

Graduate profile for the public:
Graduates have advanced knowledge of logic, mathematics, foundations of mathematics and related philosophical topics with an emphasis on independent analysis and original results. The programme is entirely delivered in English and graduates are therefore prepared for scientific and professional work in an international environment. Graduates are ideally suited to work in all areas where formal or complex systems are analysed or developed (administration and development of IT systems and databases) or in contexts which require the ability to interpret complex rules and texts, including legislation and public administration. Furthermore, graduates are well prepared to continue their studies in doctoral programmes in logic, mathematics or philosophy.
