The Adult Education and Personnel Management study programme organizes the study of the development of adult individuals, an important field for society and the shared goal of both adult education and personnel management. Attention is paid to all stages of the adult life trajectory. The programme focuses on diverse areas and contexts of educating and developing different categories of adults, as well as on diverse aspects of people management and development in organizations. Lifelong learning is one of the programme’s central concepts. While reflecting national specifics, the programme’s approach to study builds on the contemporary European conception of adult education and the internationally recognized substantive orientation of personnel management. An emphasis on theoretical inquiry is accompanied by observation of changing practices and application of knowledge to managing problems in the practice of adult education and people management in organizations.

The Adult Education and Personnel Management study programme relies on the field’s fundament in humanities as well as modern social scientific approaches. The programme’s thematic priorities include internationalization of the adult education practice, supporting disadvantaged categories of adults through education, organizational change, work in international (intercultural) environments, diverse problems faced by adult individuals, adult development and personnel management counselling, etc. Both theoretical and applied courses are characteristic of the study programme. Equipped with extended theoretical, professional, and methodological competences in the field of adult education and personnel management, the graduate has mastered the necessary knowledge and skills in applied social psychology and navigates the field’s broader social-political contexts. The programme’s integrated approach to adult education and personnel management allows for comprehensive development of theoretical background as well as for reflecting the requirements of professional practice and preparing adequately qualified professionals. The graduate can work in various types of organizations in the business, public and civic sectors. He/she can perform a wide range of job activities in specialist and management positions.
