After completing the subject, the student will therefore acquire knowledge enabling:

  • define concept of leadership and its principles
  • explain the similarities and differences between leadership and management
  • describe the experiences and tools that can help the manager in his/her development;
  • identify different leadership styles;
  • clarify the advantages and disadvantages of individual leadership theories;
  • understand the values and principles of ethical leadership
  • understand the principles of organization and delegation of work;
  • describe experiences and tools that help in the development of leadership qualities;
  • understand the values and principles of ethical leadership
  • get to know the specifics of intercultural leadership and intercultural comunication;
  • define GAP analysis;
  • describe the sources of power in interactional leadership, including the uses, advantages and disadvantages of each;
  • Explain the stages of Kohlberg’s moral reasoning.
  • understand how individual influencing tactics work;
  • implement John Wooden’s Two Sets of Three to your leadership environment.

Also, after graduating from the subject Leadership in Sport Organization, the student is able to distinguish between management and leadership and to orient himself in individual types of leadership, including his own opinions on their benefits and negatives depending on the specific environment and operating conditions. Becoming a leader presupposes the ability to show others the way, to inspire and motivate them with positive stimuli and their own example to better results and to contribute to their own personal and professional development and maturation. It is important for leadership that it is realized non-violently and in the form of voluntary following.

It is also important for the student to learn ethical principles, loyalty and fair dealing, which is necessary for a quality leader who also aspires to become a moral authority.
