This continuation of the course Chinese I will acquaint students with both linguistic knowledge and communication skills in Mandarin Chinese and cultivate their interests in Chinese culture.

The aim of the course is to help students to gain an elementary linguistic knowledge, learn the basic phraseology, thesaurus and grammar of Chinese, as well as to make the students acquainted with the notions of Chinese culture. The objective is also to gradually improve students' practical communication skills to help them fulfill different language tasks.

The students will learn all four language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing, and they will be asked to participate in various activities- pair or group practices or exercise based on individual work.

Several methods auxilliary in the learning process will be introduced to facilitate the students' individual preparation for classes and learning process at home.

The students will be taught how to tackle a word, a sentence and a whole text in Chinese with both printed and electronic dictionaries.

The score at the end of the term will be decided by the result of the final exam that will entail both written and oral part.

Students with the attendance no less than 80% will be qualified for the final exam.

Minimum 60 points out of 100 is required for passing.
