The course presents standard and selected current topics of personal psychology in the context of work, organization, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary. The course provides an overview of selected concepts and application options.

Provide an overview of the main topics of personal psychology in terms of theoretical and application.To draw attention to the possibilities of employment of psychology graduates in the work and organizational context.

Acquired knowledge: the student understands the connections between the applied areas of psychology and the development of personal psychology as well as between personal psychology and human resource management; can clarify the cycle of the individual in the organization and the approaches and contribution of personal psychology to the individual topics of this cycle; knows the standard and current topics of personal psychology and can clarify their importance in the work and organizational context; can explain the influence of socio-economic, organizational and work factors on changes in issues and topics of personnel psychology, such as psychological contracts, employee requirements or quality of working life.

Acquired skills: the student is able to orientate in the topics of personal psychology and can formulate their current context; can create a proposal of the procedure for selection procedures, adaptation of employees, socialization programs and other topics related to the cycle of an individual in the organization, with his work activities, roles, tasks, performance, evaluation, etc .; is able to assess the suitability of selection methods with respect to the requirements of job positions; can formulate the main areas of quality of working life and clarify their importance for individuals, employees and organizations; can assess the importance of employee engagement or commitment / commitment for employee motivation and job satisfaction and well-being; can formulate the main individual, work and organizational factors that positively affect the status, motivation of employees, their satisfaction, well-being and performance; can assess gender issues in work and organizational contexts; can assess the differences between traditional and contemporary approaches to careers and reflect on their consequences.

Attendance at seminars is recommended, but not mandatory.

Final work (in the range of approximately 2-3 pages).

If the student has attendance (with a maximum of 30% absence), he submits one final thesis.

If he / she does not attend attendance (or higher absence), he / she submits the extension part for the final thesis. This extension part is typically in the range of 2-3 pages.

Introduction to personal psychology (definition of the field, its historical context, multidisciplinary overlap, the role of personal psychology in a modern organization, the cycle of an employee in an organization from the perspective of psychology)

Selection of employees and creation of a working group (job analysis, job description, selection and adaptation of workers, functioning and optimization of work group activities, working group in demanding conditions)

Overview of psychodiagnostic methods in contemporary personal psychology (selection and application of the method, correct definition of criteria, advantages and weaknesses of individual methods: questionnaires, performance tests, job interview, assessment center, analysis of documentation)

Motivation and evaluation of employees (employee performance management, evaluation - systematic and fairness, motivation and job satisfaction, benefits system from the point of view of psychology, building loyalty)

Career and development (development and education of employees, development center, career management, adaptation to change and dismissal, change management from the point of view of psychology)

Working conditions and care for workers (workload and stress, health psychology in the context of personal psychology, psychological causes of increased absence, well-being, methodology of high performing teams)

Selected topics of contemporary personal psychology (psychopathology in the workplace, gender issues, personnel marketing, work in multinational corporations and in a multicultural environment)
