Stres a rostliny - přehled, terminologie a teorie stresu (stres, stresor, strain, adaptace, aklimace, rezistence, tolerance a avoidance).
Abiotické stresy - výskyt, mechanismy poškození a odolnosti rostlin vůči mrazu, chladu, horku, suchu, zaplavení, anaerobioze, těžkým kovům, záření a mechanickému stresu.
Biotický stres - charakteristiky hlavních biotických stresů a vztahů mezi nimi, patogenní organismy, škůdci, alelopatie, systémová rezistence, obranné mechanismy rostlin.
Vzájemné stresové interakce, specifické a nespecifické reakce rostlin, stresové geny, látky, fytohormony a proteiny. Oxidační stres a hypersensitivní reakce. Obranné mechanismy rostlin.
Doporučuje se předem absolvovat některou z přednášek Fyziologie rostlin.

Concepts and theories of stress in plants (Stressor-stress H.Seyle, Stress-strain J.Levitt, Disturbance-stress-competition P.Grime, Stress factors-stress response W.Larcher). Theories and definitions of adaptation, acclimation, coping, resistance, tolerance, and avoidance. Occurrence of abiotic and biotic stresses. Specific and unspecific reactions (stress genes, stress proteins, stress fytohormones, oxidative stress). Mechanisms of damage and resistance in plants to frost, chilling, heat, drought, salt, flooding, hypoxia, anoxia, heavy metals, radiation (UV, visible, infrared), mechanical stress, pathogens-diseases (viruses, bacteria, fungi, worms), pests (herbivores, insects). Plant defence systems, multiple stress interaction.

Stres a rostliny - přehled, terminologie a teorie stresu. 1. Přehled stresových faktorů a jejich působení v různých částech světa, teorie stres-strain (J.Levitt), stresor-stres (H.Selye), stres-disturbance (J.Grime), mechanismy odolnosti (rezistence) rostlin vůči stresům - escape, avoidance a tolerance, stresové reakce, shody a rozdíly mezi adaptací x aklimací rostlin.
Abiotické stresy - výskyt, mechanismy poškození a odolnosti rostlin. 2. Mráz a přezimování rostlin, příčiny poškození rostlin mrazem, podchlazení a odolnost vůči mrazu, bakterie jako katalyzátory tvorby ledu, chladové proteiny, dynamika otužování rostlin v přirozených podmínkách. 3. Nízká a vysoká teplota, příčiny poškození rostlin chladem a horkem, ochranné a obrané mechanismy rostlin vůči extrémním teplotám, fázové přechody membrán, bílkoviny teplotního šoku. 4. Stav vody v rostlinách, sucho a vodní deficit v rostlinách, změny v rostlinné buňce během odvodnění, citlivost jednotlivých fyziologických pochodů k vodnímu deficitu, mechanismy odolnosti rostli vůči suchu, dehydriny, stresové fytohormony, účinnost využití vody. 5. Výskyt zasolení a reakce rostlin, iontový a osmotický stres, odolnost rostlin k zasolení a toxickému vlivu iontů, osmotické přizpůsobení, mechanismy udržení turgoru. 6. Zaplavení a anaerobióza, nedostatek kyslíku - hypoxie a anoxie, příčiny poškození, tvorba aerenchymu a vzdušných kanálků, úloha etylénu. 7. Toxický efekt těžkých kovů a pH prostředí, rozdělení těžkých kovů, mechanismy odolnosti, fytochelatiny, bioindikace a biomonitoring. 8. Záření UV, světelné, mechanismy poškození a tolerance k UV záření, reparace. 9. Oxidační stres, kyslíkový stres, vznik reaktivních forem kyslíku a poškození látek v rostlinách, fotoinhibice a fotodestrukce, antioxidační látky a enzymové systémy, hypersensitiní odpověď 10. Mechanický stres, příčiny a ochrana rostlin.

Abiotic factors - occurrence, mechanisms of damage and resistance in plants. 2 . Frost and plant overwintering, damage by frost, undercooling and frost resistance, ice-nucleating bacteria, cold regulated proteins, plant hardening under natural conditions. 3. Chilling and heat stresses, damage by cold and heat, avoidance and tolerance of plants to cold and heat, membrane phase transition, heat shock proteins. 4. Water relationships in plants under water stress, drought and water deficit in plants, drought resistance, dehydrins, stress phytohormones, water use efficiency. 5.
