The course introduces educational psychology as one of the possible starting points for professional work in
educational and school counseling and in all areas where the psychologist needs a comprehensive explanation of
the previous development of children, adolescents and adults for effective diagnosis and intervention. It provides a
theoretical and applied basis for psychological explanation of educational processes and relationships and their
impact on personality development. It connects the knowledge of educational psychology with the solution of
specific educational situations (in the family and school environment, in hobby activities, etc.).

Introduce educational psychology as one of the possible starting points for professional work in educational and school counseling and in all areas where the psychologist needs a comprehensive explanation of the previous development of children, adolescents and adults for effective diagnosis and intervention.To provide a theoretical and applied basis for psychological explanation of educational processes and relationships and their impact on personality development.To connect the knowledge of educational psychology with the solution of specific educational situations (in the family and school environment, in hobby activities, etc.).To show that it is precisely educational psychology that offers relevant materials for understanding the conditions of individual development and their support. Acquired knowledge: the student is able to define the basic areas of educational psychology, knows the place of educational psychology in the taxonomy of psychological disciplines and in fields devoted to individual education, the contribution of the discipline to the practice of education and development; masters important concepts of personality, learning and their contribution to the development of educational psychology; knows and explains the basic subject categories of educational psychology (especially learning and maturing, skills, abilities, competencies, socialization at school, education); knows and understands the basic areas of problems solved by educational psychology; understands the principles of psychological diagnostics used in educational psychology,can use and interpret various diagnostic tools used in educational psychology (diagnostics of learning, motivation, personality, relationships) and methods used in (traditional psychological diagnostics, group diagnostics, portfolio, observation, game-based diagnostics); knows the basic principles of describing and understanding the development and education of the individual; can name the basic principles of the scientific approach in educational practice, understands the differences in scientific and non-scientific approach to education.Acquired skills: the student is able to use the approaches of educational psychology and distinguish it from the approach of sociology, special pedagogy, pedagogy, medicine; can compare individual concepts, can capture their major benefits; can explain the advantages and disadvantages of diagnostic procedures in solving research and practical tasks; can perform an orientation analysis of the development of a particular personality and its education on the basis of a case study; can critically assess the psychological grounding and methodological adequacy of common procedures for solving everyday problems of educational practice.

As a group of 4-6 people, create a 5-minute video explaining at least 1 educational psychology concept and grade one assigned video according to the criteria. For an individual 2-3-minute video.

Successfully pass a written knowledge test (50 questions - 70% pass rate).
