Active implementation of knowledge from surgical propaedeutics and special surgery, praxis in wards and operating theatres, the role of house officer, theoretical and practical preparation for state rigorous examination in surgery diagnosis of surgical illnesses, particular organs and systems, indication for surgical procedures, surgical operations, assisting surgical operations, intensive care in surgery, complications-postoperative, wound dressing.
Main principles of asepsis and antisepsis, wounds and injuries therapy, surgical infections, investigation of surgically ill patients, preoperative and postoperative care.
Basics of cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, surgery of the breast, gastrointestinal surgery, acute abdomen, hernia surgery, endocrine surgery, traumatology. Principles of surgical procedures. Praxis in operating theatres, wards, ICU and outpatients departments. Assistance during surgical procedures.

Course week consist of practical education 4 days/week (Tue - Fri) and 1 day of theoretical lectures (Mo). Student´s rotation schedule for practical education will be available at secretary office of 1st Surgical Department in first day of surgical course.
