Content of Subject:
Basic knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the eye, signs and symptoms of eye diseases, orbit, eyelids and lacrimal system, external diseases and cornea, intraocular inflammations, ocular tumours, retina and vitreous, lens, diseases of the orbit, neuro-ophthalmology, immunology, pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus, glaucoma, trauma, optics and refraction.
List of practical skills:
Basic knowledge of ophthalmology and clinical practice, examination of the anterior segment of the eye, slit lamp examination, ophthalmoscopy, examination of visual acuity, first aid and emergency in eye diseases and principles of pharmacotherapy of eye diseases.

The recommended textbook (e.g.) is: Lang: Ophthalmology, Thieme 2006 (you may e.g. buy it in the Academic bookshop in Kateřinská street (approx. 1250,- CZK)
or any other GOOD textbook of Ophthalmology (pictures are of great importance) (Nice textbooks are from J. Kanski, but those are intended rather for residents than medical students and are more expensive)
