      Entrance examination: single round – oral interview

      Content and subject matter of the entrance examination:

      1. Discussion of submitted proposal for PhD dissertation: 0–30 points
      2. Assessment of the applicant’s previous research and other academic activities: 0–15 points
      3. Assessment of the applicant’s knowledge of secondary literature: 0–15 points

      Recommended dissertation topics:

      • Paleoslavonic studies
      • Comparative or contrastice Slavonic linguistics (sybchronic or diachronic perspective)
      • Structure and functioning of the linguistic system of one Slavonic language on individual levels in synchrony or diachrony
      • Stylistic, pragmatics, discursive and textual linguistics based on Slavonic language material
      • Use of national, regional or minority Slavonic languages in synchrony or diachrony
      • Linguistic situation in countries with a Slavonic state language or Slavonic ethnic component or with a Slavonic language or language of communication
      • Slavonic-Slavonic language contact, including translation and acquisition of Slavonic languages as second (other, foreign) languages
      • Regional contact between Slavonic and non-Slavonic (especially Baltic) languages
      • Typological characteristics of Slavonic languages

      Proposals for doctoral projects must have a regional, comparative or typological concept with a broad cultural-historical and sociopolitical scope. A key factor is the Czech context from the perspective of researched material and methodology.

      Вступительный экзамен: собеседование, 1 тур.

      Содержание, предмет вступительного экзамена:

      1. Научная дискуссия по представленному проекту диссертационной работы: 0–30 баллов;
      2. Оценка профессиональной деятельности и учебы кандидата на сегодняшний день: 0–15 баллов;
      3. Демонстрация знаний , полученных при изучении научной литературы:: 0–15 баллов.

      Тематические направления диссертационных исследований:

      • Палеославистика.
      • Сравнительное или сопоставительное славянское языкознание (в синхронном или диахронном аспектах).
      • Структура и функционирование языковой системы одного из славянских языков на отдельных уровняхс в синхронии или диахронии.
      • Стилистика, прагматика, дискурсивная лингвистика и лингвистика текста на материале славянских языков.
      • Функционирование национальных, региональных или миноритарных славянских языков в синхронии или диахронии.
      • Языковая ситуация в странах со славянским языком в качестве государственного или со славянским этническим компонентом или со славянским языком в качестве языка коммуникации.
      • Славянско-славянский языковой контакт, включая перевод и аквизицию славянских языков как вторых (следующих, иностранных).
      • Ареальное исследование славянско-неславянского (в первую очередь, балтийского) языкового контакта.
      • Типологическая характеристика славянских языков.

      Проекты диссертационных работ должны опираться на ареальный, сравнительный или типологический подход с освещением более широкого культурно-историческиго и социально-политического контекста. Чешский контекст выступает в качестве основного с точки зрения материала исследования и/или выбранной методологии.

      Выбранную тему необходимо предварительно обсудить с выбранным (предполагаемым) научным руководителем и с председателем соответственного научного совета по специальности.       • proof of successful completion of any certified examination in Russian at B2 level or higher according to the list below, whereby no certified examinations other than those listed above will be taken into account:

      Graduates have been consistently trained to be able to conduct research in the field of either Slavic Philology or Slavic Linguistics. They have an overview of research relevant to the knowledge of the comparative structures, functions and use of Slavic languages from a synchronic and diachronic point of view, with emphasis on the language of specialisation. The graduate is well-guided in the methodology of the discipline, is able to set his/her own objectives and research methods on the basis of available literature, to select adequate methods of collection, description and evaluation of material and to reach relevant conclusions. The graduate has proven his/her skills in scientific communication, both written and oral. He/she is accustomed to team work, has experience organising scientific life and, as a rule, also of teaching.
