Doctoral studies in German and French philosophy, focusing on German classical philosophy, phenomenology and contemporary French philosophy, their historical assumptions and their mutual influences in the intellectual and cultural European space, It will provide a challenging training for research and further independent development of current philosophical approaches that have emerged in Central Europe and France and that fundamentally influence the contemporary world philosophical scene and at the same time fundamentally shape the shape of the contemporary Czech philosophical scene with which they are traditionally associated.
These include the philosophical trends and approaches of German classical philosophy (from Kant onwards) and the reactions to it, phenomenology (especially Husserl's) and its perception and independent development in France, philosophy of life and existence, hermeneutics, phenomenological ontology, and contemporary modifications of phenomenology.
The doctoral student's curriculum includes planned publications, conference participation, and examinations in required and elective courses according to the accreditation material.


Promotionsstudium in deutscher und französischer Philosophie mit Schwerpunkt auf der deutschen klassischen Philosophie, der Phänomenologie und der zeitgenössischen französischen Philosophie, ihren historischen Voraussetzungen und ihren gegenseitigen Einflüssen im geistigen und kulturellen europäischen Raum, Es wird eine anspruchsvolle Ausbildung für die Erforschung und weitere eigenständige Entwicklung aktueller philosophischer Ansätze bieten, die in Mitteleuropa und Frankreich entstanden sind und die die zeitgenössische philosophische Weltszene grundlegend beeinflussen und gleichzeitig die Gestalt der zeitgenössischen tschechischen philosophischen Szene, mit der sie traditionell verbunden sind, grundlegend prägen.
Dazu gehören die philosophischen Strömungen und Ansätze der deutschen klassischen Philosophie (ab Kant) und die Reaktionen darauf, die Phänomenologie (insbesondere die von Husserl) und ihre Wahrnehmung und eigenständige Entwicklung in Frankreich, die Lebens- und Existenzphilosophie, die Hermeneutik, die phänomenologische Ontologie und die zeitgenössischen Modifikationen der Phänomenologie.
Das Curriculum des Doktoranden umfasst geplante Publikationen, die Teilnahme an Konferenzen und Prüfungen in Pflicht- und Wahlfächern gemäß den Akkreditierungsunterlagen.

Admission to the programme is based on an assessment of specified documents (there is no entrance exam)
The applicant shall provide the following documents:
1. a dissertation project, which must be consulted in advance with a supervisor selected from among the members of the Branch Council or from a list of supervisors approved by the Branch Council. The dissertation project shall include:
1.1.a. A delineation of the research area and a clear statement of the questions or problems the candidate wishes to address in the thesis and the anticipated method and process of resolution;
1.1.b. Lists of texts, authors or sources, if any, on which the thesis will be based or which will be used in the thesis, as follows
1.1.b.1. The candidate shall provide a list of professional texts already studied and
1.1.b.2. The candidate shall provide a list of texts on which he/she intends to base his/her dissertation;
2. The candidate shall submit his/her own professional philosophical text (published or produced in the course of previous studies);
3. A professional CV with a list of publications.

The candidate shall attach all the specified documents to the application for studies; the documents are a mandatory attachment to the application.

The Examination Board will score the submissions according to the following criteria:
Ad 1. The committee will assess the relevance of the submitted dissertation project, the decisive evaluation criteria will be the relevance of the project to the thematic definition of the field of German and French Philosophy, the meaningfulness of the project, the possibilities of solving the project, the timetable for solving the dissertation. The committee will also assess the quality and sufficiency of the texts studied relevant to the study of the field and the list of texts on which the candidate intends to base the dissertation. The evaluation will be on a scale of 0-10 points.
Ad 2. The committee will assess the quality and professionalism of your own philosophical text on a scale of 0-7 points.
Ad 3. The committee will assess the candidate's academic record and aptitude for the field of study on a scale of 0-3.

A maximum of 20 points may be awarded. According to the score, the applicants will be ranked, and the Dean will set the score threshold for admission based on the result of the admission procedure and taking into account the economic and capacity possibilities of the faculty.

Die Zulassung zum Studiengang erfolgt auf der Grundlage einer Bewertung bestimmter Unterlagen (es gibt keine Aufnahmeprüfung)
Der Bewerber muss die folgenden Unterlagen vorlegen:
1. ein Dissertationsprojekt, das im Voraus mit einem Betreuer abgesprochen werden muss, der aus den Reihen der Mitglieder des Fachbereichsrats oder aus einer vom Fachbereichsrat genehmigten Liste von Betreuern ausgewählt wird. Das Dissertationsprojekt muss Folgendes umfassen:
1.1.a. Eine Abgrenzung des Forschungsgebiets und eine klare Darstellung der Fragen oder Probleme, die der Kandidat in der Dissertation behandeln möchte, sowie die vorgesehene Methode und das Verfahren zur Lösung;
1.1.b. Auflistung der Texte, Autoren oder Quellen, auf die sich die Arbeit stützen wird oder die in der Arbeit verwendet werden, wie folgt
1.1.b.1. der Kandidat muss eine Liste der bereits studierten Fachtexte vorlegen und
1.1.b.2 Der Kandidat muss eine Liste der Texte vorlegen, auf die er seine Dissertation zu stützen beabsichtigt;
2. Der Kandidat legt einen eigenen philosophischen Fachtext vor (veröffentlicht oder im Rahmen eines früheren Studiums verfasst);
3. Ein beruflicher Lebenslauf mit einer Liste der Veröffentlichungen.

Der Kandidat muss dem Antrag auf Zulassung zum Studium alle genannten Unterlagen beifügen; die Unterlagen sind eine obligatorische Anlage zum Antrag.

Der Prüfungsausschuss bewertet die eingereichten Arbeiten nach den folgenden Kriterien:
Ad 1. der Ausschuss bewertet die Relevanz des eingereichten Dissertationsvorhabens, die entscheidenden Bewertungskriterien sind die Relevanz des Vorhabens für die thematische Definition des Faches Deutsche und Französische Philosophie, die Sinnhaftigkeit des Vorhabens, die Möglichkeiten der Lösung des Vorhabens, der Zeitplan für die Lösung der Dissertation. Der Ausschuss bewertet auch die Qualität und die Hinlänglichkeit der studierten Texte, die für das Studium des Fachgebiets relevant sind, sowie die Liste der Texte, auf die sich der Kandidat für seine Dissertation stützen will. Die Bewertung erfolgt auf einer Skala von 0-10 Punkten.
Ad 2: Der Ausschuss bewertet die Qualität und Professionalität des eigenen philosophischen Textes auf einer Skala von 0-7 Punkten.
Zu 3: Der Ausschuss bewertet die akademischen Leistungen und die Eignung des Kandidaten für das Fachgebiet auf einer Skala von 0-3.

Es können maximal 20 Punkte vergeben werden. Der Dekan legt auf der Grundlage des Ergebnisses des Zulassungsverfahrens und unter Berücksichtigung der wirtschaftlichen und kapazitären Möglichkeiten des Fachbereichs die Mindestpunktzahl für die Zulassung fest.

Admission to Doctoral studies is conditioned by successful completion of a Master's study programme.

Graduates of the doctoral program in German and French Philosophy are prepared for independent scientific work within the relevant area of theoretical interest of the field and are capable of professional employment in the academic world, both at home and abroad. He/she is also familiar with the necessary academic operations such as obtaining grant support, forming research teams, organizing conferences, foreign internships, applying research outputs, conducting seminars and lectures, etc. The graduate is well prepared for employment within European political or cultural institutions.

Die Absolventen des Promotionsstudiengangs in deutscher und französischer Philosophie sind auf eine selbständige wissenschaftliche Arbeit in dem jeweiligen theoretischen Interessengebiet des Fachs vorbereitet und in der Lage, in der akademischen Welt im In- und Ausland beruflich tätig zu werden. Er/sie ist auch mit den notwendigen akademischen Abläufen vertraut, wie z.B. der Beschaffung von Fördermitteln, der Bildung von Forschungsteams, der Organisation von Konferenzen, Auslandspraktika, der Anwendung von Forschungsergebnissen, der Durchführung von Seminaren und Vorlesungen usw. Der Absolvent ist gut auf eine Beschäftigung in europäischen politischen oder kulturellen Einrichtungen vorbereitet.
