The course is intended for students who want to learn the basics of German, are considering future studies or internships in German-speaking countries and would like to become familiar with everyday situations or want to prepare for higher follow-up courses at a faster pace. Its concept assumes that the student already speaks one foreign language.

The aim of the course is to master communication in some basic everyday situations at the A1 level (SERR). Within the individual topics on which the grammar is based, all language skills will be developed, i.e. speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Conditions for receiving a credit course:

- 50% - active participation in lessons

- 50% - a written test focused on mastering the discussed conversational and grammar topics. Students are entitled to 2 re-takes, i.e. all together they have 3 attempts.

To successfully pass the course, it is necessary to reach at least 65% marks in each section.

Syllabus -

During this course, students will be able to learn the following at a simple level:

- greetings, introducing oneself and others, communicating basic information about oneself

- numerals

- talk about family

- basic conversation in a restaurant, talking about food and drink

- draft a short text and understand it.

 

They will learn the following in grammar:

- conjugate regular and auxiliary verbs in the present and partly simple past tense

- personal, possessive and interrogative pronouns

- singular and plural of nouns

- forms of definite, indefinite and negative articles in selected cases

- basic connectors

- forming declarative and interrogative sentences.
