The subject covers various topics from general psychology, medical psychology, and contemporary psychotherapy that are relevant to medicine. Main attention is given to bio-psycho-social approach, psychosomatic medicine, systemic approach and psychotherapy research. Important aspects of clinical practice are discussed from psychology/psychotherapy viewpoint such as subjective experience of being ill, communication intricacies between physician and patient, therapeutic relationship, embedded counselling etc.

motivation, emotions, expectations, and needs.

 Family, health, and illness. Interpersonal neurobiology. Disease as a stressful situation, coping strategies.

 Stress, health, and prevention of burn out syndrom from psychological and social perspective.

 Challenges and dilemmas of communication in clinical practice. Therapeutic relationship in medicine. Embedded counselling.

 Bio-psycho-social model and psychosomatic perspective.
