Annotation
Pathophysiology for dentistry students is reduced and includes mainly information related either to particular dentistry problems or to an ability of Dentistry doctors to recognize such diseases in their patients which can be discovered first just by Dentists (when they are not fully clinically manifested), since they have close contacts with their patients. However, similarly like in General Medicine students the first part is devoted to description of general mechanisms of health disorders and their effects on body functions. Problems which accompany a lot of diseases like inflammation, hypoxia, disorders of internal body environment, pain etc. are instructed. Hematological, cardiovascular and respiratory diseases are still included in this first block. In practical classes students are instructed in registration of electrocardiogram and in evaluation of ECG pathological changes, also spirometry is performed, and typical findings are discussed.
