  • Practical exercises will take place in Rotunda (or Round Auditory, ID in SIS is BIOLS1), which is located on the first floor of the Purkyně Institute (Albertov 4), in the right wing at the end of the corridor. On our web you can find the weekly schedule of the practical training plus assignment of study groups to particular weekdays and teachers. You do not need lab coats, but you may need a pen and paper (or something to write on) and a calculator.

    For each practical training, you will be required to fill in a protocol. Protocols and presentations from practical trainings will be posted here in MS Teams under the “Files” tab. Please store your filled-in protocols, they may be needed for your credit. You will also need to pass 3 tests (cytogenetics, formal genetics and credit test) which will be written on computers using system “ROGO”. During the first week of practical training, you will have an opportunity to get acquainted with ROGO. It should be stressed beforehand that for the computer tests, you will not be allowed any materials with the exception of blank paper, pen and a calculator, all without data connection (i.e. no mobile phones as calculators). For further information, please contact your group teacher(s).

    Lectures will also be in presence format, in the Large Auditory of the Purkyně Institute. You can find the lecture schedule on our web page. In addition to the presence form, there may be a possibility to obtain access to some of the previously recorded videos from the lectures delivered during the distance learning. Further information should be available soon.

    Biology and Genetics 1 is concluded by obtaining the credit, for which you need:

    1. attendance to practical training: 1 absence is tolerated without explicit reasons, 2 more absences could be tolerated if sufficient objective justification is given, with more absences, please refer to your group teacher or appeal to me or to the head of the Institute. Filled-in protocols may be important in complicated cases;
    2. all 3 computer tests passed (with approximately 60% above the random mark);
