Involved in the research project of the social behaviour and vocalic communication of the African Grey Parrot (Psittacus erithacus), the students have the opportunity to learn the basic research methods in the field of interspecies communication, in particular the model/rival teaching method by Irene Pepperberg.

Cvičení nabízí studentům možnost seznámit se se základními metodami výzkumu mezidruhové komunikace na modelovém druhu papoušků žako (Psittacus erithacus) a zapojit se tak do mnohaleté historie projektů probíhajících v Laboratoři mezidruhové komunikace. Dlouhodobě nejpoužívanější technikou je výuková metoda model rival Irene Pepperbergové; používají a testují se její různé modifikace. Dále se zaměřujeme na zkoumání sociálního chování papoušků a vokální komunikace, výzkum osobnosti a kognitivních schopností. K zapsání do předmětu je nezbytná účast v semináři, který je organizační a teoretickou složkou projektu.

Student will have the opportunity to participate at several research projects, as for example:

1) Teaching of language using the model/rival technique and related techniques

2) Research of the relationship between the personality or motor skills of the parrot and its capability to learn human language

2) Research of group behaviour of the grey parrots

3) Research of intraspecies vocal communication of the grey parrots

Vast majority of the project takes place in Legerova Str. 63, where the parrots are situated in an annex building.

Student bude mít možnost účastnit se několika výzkumných projektů, například:

1) Výuka mluvení technikou model/rival a příbuznými technikami

2) Výzkum vztahu osobnosti a motorických schopností papouška se schopností učení řeči

2) Výzkum skupinového chování papoušků žako

3) Výzkum vzájemné vokální komunikace papoušků žako

Valná většina projektů probíhá v Legerově ulici 63, kde jsou papoušci umístěni v přístavku na dvoře.
