The selective seminar will focus on connoisseurship of Renaissance and Baroque painting and drawing. Students
will learn within both semesters scholar methods, how to determine the function of the artwork and how to
determine the authorship of a certain artwork. Besides the theoretical part in which the historical development of
connoisseurship will be explained, the seminar will have a practical part as well. On specific artworks will be
shown the practise.

Výběrový seminář se zaměří na znalectví renesančního a barokního malířství a kresby. Studenti se v průběhu
obou semestrů seznámí s odbornými postupy, jak určit funkci, k níž bylo takové umělecké dílo určeno, a jak určit
autora, který takové dílo vytvořil. Vedle teoretické části, v níž bude naznačen i historický vývoj znalectví, se přistoupí
i k praktické části, kdy na konkrétních uměleckých dílech budou ukázány naučené postupy.

Conditions of completion:
Mandatory attendance at all hours of events and seminars, absence is tolerated only on the basis of plausible excuses sent in advance.
Seminar work on the history of the Renaissance and Baroque art of painting and drawing (winter semester), and on the procedure of determining the authorship of an anonymous work of the time (summer semester).

Podmínky absolvování:
Povinná účast na všech hodinách i akcích semináře, neúčast je tolerována jen na základě hodnověrné omluvenky zaslané předem.
Seminární práce jednak z dějin znalectví renesančního a barokního umění malby a kresby (zimní semestr), jednak zaměřená na postup určení autorství anonymního díla dané doby (letní semestr).
