Exam prerequisites:

Prerequisites to obtain the credit

• 100% attendance of practical lessons + morning seminars (microlecture) One absence due to a health-related reason is tolerated (provided a medical report is presented). Replacement is possible after prior agreement with subject guarantor or his deputy. Morning seminars are also obligatory. 1 absence per semester is tolerated but must be compensated for by writing an essay about the missed topic. Students may replace a missed practical lesson by attending the class with another group given that the teacher has been informed beforehand and that it does not collide with another class they might have.

Passing the Paediatrics subject credit test

To pass the test it is obligatory to have at least 66% of correct answers. In case of failing the test, it is possible to retake it a total of 2 more times. • Active approach including theoretical preparation while maintaining the safety rules during practical lessons

E-learning topics are designed for self-study

To verify the acquired knowledge, it is necessary to complete a preparatory test for each topic on Moodle. Successful completion of the test is an essential part of obtaining credit.

Notes

I. Practical lessons: The students should come prepared for the lessons. During practical lessons the students examine the patients individually and then present their findings to their group. Students are obliged to ask in case of any doubts or problems and should actively take part in the discussion of the cases. During the course of the 5th year, students will encounter a broad spectrum of paediatric cases.

II. Interactive seminars: According to the provided schedule, students must prepare for and study the selected topics which will be discussed in the group. A special emphasis is given to urgent situations and emergencies in Paediatrics.
