Annotation -
The course is designed for complete beginners. No prior knowledge of French is required. Its objective is to develop basic language competences for acquiring the A1 level.

The course is designed for Czech speaking students.

This is a one-semester course, 2x2 hours per week, i.e. 52 hours of classroom teaching per semester + approx. 50 hours of self-study.

Aim of the course -

The aim of the course is to achieve level A1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages in all language skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing). In addition to developing basic communication skills, students will be introduced to the basic realities of France and French-speaking countries. They will learn methods for improving their French independently and will be provided with additional resources for this purpose.

Syllabus -

Lessons 1-10 of the Vite et bien 1 textbook.

Working with text - reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition and expansion; text - narration, description; application in oral and written communication.

Spoken communication - monologue/dialogue, narration within the topics covered.

Listening comprehension.

Grammar - conjugation of basic regular and irregular verbs, forms of adjectives, independent and dependent pronouns, prepositions of place and time, forming questions, future tense (futur proche), imperative mood, past tense (passé composé).

Selection of Francophone realia.
