Zásady pro vypracování

Postava sumerského boha Dumuziho či jeho semitského ekvivalentu Tammûze zhmotňuje v Mezopotámii důležitou představu ideálního panovníka jako dobrého pastýře lidu. Dumuzi je skutečně pastýřem i králem, má přímý vztah k vegetaci, a tím i funkci panovníka jako poskytovatele životodárné síly státu. Tuto jeho dvojroli zde budu interpretovat ve vztahu k sémantice prostoru a významné mezopotámské opozici města a „stepi“, neboli krajiny za jeho hradbami – na základě strukturálního přístupu k ní pak lze přiřadit i opozice jako chráněný/nebezpečný prostor, domestikovaný/nedomestikovaný prostor, řád/chaos apod.,přičemž druhý pól nese jistou ambivalenci. Prostorově pojatá se tak Dumuziho role skládá z aspektu vztahujícího se ke chráněnému prostoru z jeho středu (král) a jeho nejzazšího okraje (pastýř). S mezopotámskou koncepcí horizontální kosmografie budu pracovat zejména na základě interpretací Beate Pongratz-Leisten a Gebharda J. Selze. Má vlastní interpretace se bude týkat dokladů narativního i kultického charakteru z přelomu 3. a 2. tisíciletí, tedy dokladů pozdně sumerských spolu s raně semitskými a starobabylonskými, u nichž zůstává silná návaznost na sumerskou tradici.
