Zásady pro vypracování

Este trabajo tiene como objetivo el análisis del desempeño del Cuerpo de Paz estadounidense (Peace Corps) en Colombia entre 1961 y 1981, primer período en el que se desarrollaron sus actividades de voluntariado en dicho país.
A modo de contextualización, se analizarán en un primer capítulo las relaciones entre Colombia y Estados Unidos a lo largo del siglo XX.
En un segundo capítulo se hará referencia a las políticas de Estado llevadas a cabo por Estados Unidos hacia Latinoamérica en el contexto de la Guerra Fría, con especial énfasis en la Alianza para el Progreso y en otros acuerdos de cooperación internacional.
Un tercer capítulo se dedicará al origen, la puesta en marcha y la evolución del Cuerpo de Paz, en tanto que agencia federal independiente ligada a la Presidencia de los Estados Unidos.
El capítulo central girará en torno a las áreas y lugares de acción, los objetivos y expectativas, cambios y la necesidad de adaptación, y los aciertos y fracasos de las actividades del Cuerpo de Paz en Colombia. Se analizarán, además las causas que dieron fin, en 1981, a dicho programa de cooperación y la repercusión que tuvo para el país.
