| This diploma thesis concerns attempts to securitize a planned reactor in the existing Dukovany NPP. First, I will introduce the theory of securitization itself, its limits and its critiques. Further, I will move on to the relevant concepts, which is environmental, political and energy security. Then I will briefly describe the history of the discourse on nuclear energy in the Czech Republic.
Subsequently, I will introduce the methodology. More precisely, I will focus on the description of the critical discourse analysis within the theory of securitization. A definition of research questions and hypotheses and research material follows. Finally, I will write an empirical part. In it, I will apply the theory of securitisation and the described methodology to the case of attempts to securitize the planned reactor at the Dukovany NPP. At the end of the empirical part, I will answer the research questions and refute or confirm the research hypotheses. |
