Předběžná náplň práce

Práce se věnuje politice vojenské nezúčastněnosti jako specifické bezpečnostní politice Švédska ve dvou dekádách po konci studené války, v letech 1990–2009. V průběhu času je sledována slučitelnost vojenské nezúčastněnosti se zapojením Švédska do evropských integračních struktur. Slučitelnost je posuzována na základě definice vojenské nezúčastněnosti vycházející z obecné podmínky neúčasti ve vojenských aliancích, a dále dvou specifických švédských podmínek, nezávislosti zahraniční politiky a odporu ke společné obraně. Pro posuzování slučitelnosti je významné členství Švédska v EU a zapojení země do činnosti NATO, ale i severská, resp. seversko-baltská spolupráce. Do Evropské unie Švédsko vstoupilo v polovině 90. let, a práce sleduje vývoj SZBP, zvláště její složky SBOP. Vedle toho se Švédsko od roku 1994 účastní programu NATO Partnerství pro mír. Od konce studené války přistoupily k bližší spolupráci v bezpečnostní oblasti i země severské, a to mj. spolu s pobaltskými zeměmi. Hodnocení vojenské nezúčastněnosti Švédska mezi lety 1990 a 2009 je založeno na dvou základních prvcích švédské bezpečnostní politiky, suverenity a solidarity.

Předběžná náplň práce v anglickém jazyce

This thesis deals with the policy of military non-alignment as a specific security policy of Sweden in two decades after the end of the Cold War, between 1990 and 2009. Over the followed time, the compatibility of military non-alignment with the involvement of Sweden in European integration structures is monitored. Compatibility is assessed based on a definition of military non-alignment, consisting of a general condition of non-participation in military alliances, as well as two specific Swedish conditions, independent foreign policy and resistance to common defence. Sweden's membership in the EU and its involvement in NATO are important for the compatibility assessment, as well as Nordic and Nordic-Baltic cooperation. Sweden joined the European Union in the mid-1990s, and the thesis follows the development of the CFSP, especially its CSDP component. In addition, since 1994, Sweden has been participating in NATO's Partnership for Peace programme. Since the end of the Cold War, Nordic countries have also stepped up closer cooperation in i.a. security, along with the Baltic countries. The assessment of Sweden’s policy of military non-alignment between 1990 and 2009 is based on two basic elements of Swedish security policy, sovereignty and solidarity.
