Předběžná náplň práce

Práce se zabývá konstruktivistickým konceptem "náboženské národní identity", který vychází z teorie Henryho R. Naua o rovnováze identit a důležitosti identity v konfliktech a národních zájmech. Odpověď na výzkumnou otázku se pak v empirické části práce snaží objasnit, zda a jak je tento koncept přítomen v rivalitě mezi Saúdskou Arábii a Íránem a v jejich vztazích se spojenci v Libanonu, Sýrii a Jemenu, a zda je podstatný pro formaci aliancí a dynamiku tamějších sektářských konfliktů.

Předběžná náplň práce v anglickém jazyce

The thesis explores constructivist concept of the "religious national identity" based on Henry R. Nau's theory of balance of identity and the importance of identity for national interests and conflicts. Empirical chapters of the thesis are trying to answer the research question, namely whether and how is the concept relevant to the rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran and their relationships with state and non-state actors in Lebanon, Syria and Yemen, and whether the concept is reflected in alliance formation and dynamics of local sectarian conflicts.
