Předběžná náplň práce v anglickém jazyce |
Pat Barker?s trilogy Regeneration consists of three novels from the environment of the First World War. The books are partly based on real events and people, and the aim of the thesis is to analyze them deeper and show how they contributed to the creation of the trilogy. The first novel, Regeneration, deals with real-life experiences of British army officers being treated for shell shock. Whereas Regeneration is a mixture of fact and fiction, the second novel, The Eye in the Door, acknowledges real events, but remains within the realm of fiction. The last volume of the trilogy, The Ghost Road, follows the destiny of shell-shocked British army officers towards the end of the First World War. The thesis focuses on how Barker explores possible relationships between real people and fictional characters. |
