This thesis will provide an in deep report on the role of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) to trained immunity. Very recent publications uncovered that HSPCs generate myeloid cells with increased responsiveness to secondary challenges, and have explored the mechanisms driving these properties. Here, we will review these novel studies and provide understanding on the transcriptomic, epigenomic, and functional reprogramming of HSPCs during the course of infection. |
