Diplomová práce se bude zabývat tématem lokální a regionální identity obyvatel v Jihočeském kraji. Klade si za cíl přispět v rámci geografického bádání tímto výzkumem k tématu regionální identity a image regionu a rovněž se zapojit do diskuze o významu působení knihoven a informačních středisek. Požadovaným výsledkem práce je zjistit, zda a jakým způsobem tyto instituce k formování identity přispívají, tzn. vlastní formy reprezentace těchto institucí zacílené na cílovou skupinu obyvatel (např. infocentra na návštěvníky), jak těchto institucí využívají obce ke své prezentaci a budují tak image regionu směrem dovnitř i navenek. Objektem výzkumu jsou regiony Jihočeského kraje, konkrétně všechny centra správních obvodů obcí s rozšířenou působností.

The thesis will deal with the topic of local and regional identity of the inhabitants of the South Bohemian Region. It aims to contribute to the topic of regional identity and the image of the region within the framework of geographic research by this research and also to engage in a discussion about the importance of libraries and information centres. The desired outcome of the thesis is to find out whether and how these institutions contribute to identity formation, i.e. their own forms of representation aimed at the target population (e.g. information centres at visitors), how municipalities use these institutions to present themselves and thus build the image of the region inwards and outwards. The object of the research are the regions of the South Bohemia Region, specifically all centres of administrative districts of municipalities with extended competence.
