Candida.

The work is aimed at identifying the role of various factors (nutrient sources, presence of stressors, temperature, etc.) on the adhesion of cells of natural strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae to solid surfaces and the subsequent formation of biofilms. The work will use different parental natural strains of S. cerevisiae, domesticated variants derived from them and strains with gene deletion for factors important for yeast colony biofilm formation. Based on the results obtained, the conditions affecting adhesion and biofilm development of S. cerevisiae will be tested for their influence on adhesion and development of Candida yeasts.
