Zásady pro vypracování
Doctoral thesis will be focused on study of derivatives derived from nitrogen heterocycles in the terms of synthetic procedures, wet/in silico biological screening and derivation of structure-activity relationships. The impact will be given on the synthesis supported by usual laboratory equipment for common reactions, reaction under argon atmosphere, microwave synthesis or by flash chromatograph intended for compounds purification. There are different bio-assay available in the research group, e.g. antifungal, antibacterial or antimycobacterial in vitro screening. Basic knowledge of drug design is expected, but it can be frther supported by using of software for molecular modelling available in the working place.
The study program includes passing specific exams (physico-chemical methods for identification of drugs, organic chemistry, microbiology, computer-aided drug design, medicinal chemistry), taking part in pre-graduate practical classes in Medicinal Chemistry, applying for financial support from Grant Agency of Charles University and other competitions, one semester research stay (e.g. ERASMUS PLUS), obligatory participating in PGS+Post-doc faculty conference and also in other conferences (posters, lectures) in the Czech Republic and in Europe, publishing achieved results in scientific journals and in the end defense of the Ph.D. thesis.
