In steelmaking process, several iron ore preprocessing steps have to be done, before burning the steel in blast furnace. One of those steps is so called peletizing, when iron ore is mixed with water and formed into small pellets. Pellets are then pre-burned on a pellet burning line, which consists of individual pellet cars. Because of constant warming and cooling, pellet cars get damaged over time.
The aim of this thesis is to invent an optical algorithm to analyze pellet car damages. Those data can be used to improve scheduling of pellet burning line service stops and thus increase effectivity of whole steelworks.
