The aim of this disertation is to research on chemosenzory receptors in model species of rodents of the genus Apodemus to analyze in detail their function in different organs and tissues. The nature of such research is comparative in that different species of the genus Apodemus that differ in mating systems are predicted to have major differences in the repertoire of chemosensory receptors. The principal hypothesis predicts that multimale mating as a factor has driven the evolution of chemosensory receptors to maximize individual fitness benefits.
