Self-assembling molecules can form self-assembled gels and pseudosolutions, i.e. supramolecular polymers. At elevated temperature, these polymers are liquid and can be filled in a capillary where they form gel separation matrix after cooling down. The aim of this work is characterization of novel chiral self-assembling molecules based on derivatized cyclodextrins in terms of their applicability in capillary gel electrophoresis and capillary electrokinetic chromatography. Interactions of the self-assembling molecules with various types of potential analytes will be studied and the influence of their self-assembling on the strength and selectivity of their interactions with analytes will be investigated.
