Zásady pro vypracování

Autor bude analyzovat každodenní život britských vojáků během tažení na Pyrenejském poloostrově za napoleonských válek. V úvodní části autor zařadí události z let 1807-1814, které proběhly v Portugalsku a Španělsku, do širších vojensko-politických souvislostí. Hlavní část práce bude věnována jednotlivým tematickým okruhům chronologicky seřazeným nikoli podle toho, jak válka na poloostrově probíhala, ale podle toho, jak ji prožívala valná většina britských vojáků: odvedení do armády a následný výcvik, plavba přes moře, vylodění a život v táborech, útrapy pochodů a bitva. Hlavním pramenem budou paměti či korespondence zúčastněných. V poslední části se autor bude zabývat fungováním polních lazaretů, práce chirurgů atd., opět především na základě pramenů osobní povahy a odborné literatury především britské provenience.
